It PAINS me to no avail in having traditionalist leanings that I should have to make the argument as to when a man should pay for a date with a woman and the circumstances surrounding it.
I definitely don't buy into any new age standard that women should pay half. Never have and never will. But then again, I've never used any man for free meals (or attention) and the mere thought of doing something so tacky has never even crossed my mind.
If I don't like a man, I don't go out on a date with him. That's always been how I've dealt with men as far as dating. I realize a first date is a huge deal and a vetting process in itself to gauge a person's interest to determine if there's a connection.
